Copyright

You know I hate copyright laws, at least the ones in effect now. My biggest problem is how long they last.
Here is a quote from the US Constitution:

The Congress shall have power . . . to promote the progress of science and useful arts . . . by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive rights to their respective writings and discoveries. (emphasis mine)

Copyright terms are so long now that there is no way to promote anything in our lifetime. My point...here is a case, Eldred v. Ashcroft, that is fighting one of the extensions. I hope something happens soon.

Work

So after the worst week at work I have ever had, I talked to the "Boss". I'm not a big fan of complaining to the boss, it makes me uncomfortable. I had my list of things that I felt need working on: my salary (that is always in there), my job title, my job description and faculty. I'm unsure what if anything will change. The one thing that would make the most difference would be my job description. The "Boss" and I are to meet next week and discuss the progress. I really do want to like my job, I used to love it.
