IMDB and Trackback
While entering my last post a use for trackbacks came to me. Wouldn't it be great if you could send a trackback ping to the imdb page of a specific movie? When you went to the site to check out the movie you would have an instant listing of reviews and comments. Just a thought. I was going to email them with the suggestion, but I could not find a contact address on their site. I'm not sure that webmaster@ will get somewhere.
How about linking to reversible.org/entertainment/movies/imdb/movieID ?
And how about doing the same things for books?
reversible.org/entertainment/books/ISBN/ISBNnumber would be better than the current practices of linking to Amazon because it is company-neutral.

That would certainly be nice. It is always a good goal to be company neutral. I will definitely be doing that with my movie post from now on. Just got to get the word out so a lot of people are doing it. Once it meets critical mass it will be very useful.

I guess the next challenge for someone with some time on thire hands would be to make an "AllConsuming" variant for IMDB films...? There's money to be made; but most of all of course good fun!??

I sent an Email to them as well to let IMDB know that Trackbacks are the wave of the future for them. I just hope I will get a trackback soon. would love to see what it is like. :)
I sure hope they add the functionality to IMDB though that would be so very cool.

I am new to the internet and I am surfing here and this is very interesting reading. I did a search in the search engines on "company blog" and I found your web blog.
I am a Lawyer in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and thus my interest in searching for a company blog on the WWW.
I just wanted to see how the rest of the world thinks and see what trends and technology are happening in the world. I also was interested in a blog for myself which might possibly lead to a blob for my law firm, you never know, that is if I can understand the technology of operating a blog. The different things discussed on a website found by searching for "company blog" in the search engine is very amusing reading to this Halifax Lawyer.
Respectfully yours
