Warning, rash political rant ahead
It seems that you can't say anything negative about Israel without someone, whether they are Jewish or not, calling you anti-Semitic. There is an important difference in being anti a government's administration and anti a group of people being governed my that administration.
I think Israel's current stance towards a Palestinian state is disgraceful. I believe in a Palestinian state. I believe that the expansion of the settlements needs to stop. I am most certainly not anti-semitic.
This does not mean that I in anyway condone violent Palestinian resistance. At the same time, I think it is important to look at the death tolls. It is pretty lopsided.
During the Clinton administration, we had a president that worked very hard at bringing the two sides together (and he came very close). Now it seems that during our "war on terror", we have forgotten. If the US could bring about a resolution to this conflict, one that guaranteed a separate state, it would go a long way towards repairing are standing in the Middle East.
I am by no means an expert in Middle East politics so take what I say as an observation from an outsider.
