About Me

An about me page is long over do so here it is. Don't expect much, I have a boring life.

Name:
My name is Tommy Prefontaine. I used to be called Thomas Noe. Before that I was known as Thomas Wolf and Tom Mikkelsen. Ok, in real life I still go by Wolf, but the others are more fun.

Locations:
I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin called Fond du lac. After school I moved to Chicago where I lived for six years. I now reside in Los Angeles, Ca.

Tivo Season Passes

Education:
I attended Wayland Academy for most of my high-school years and Columbia College for some good ol' college. I was a film major. It didn't work out, don't ask.

Occupation:
I'm a systems administrator for a production company.

Music:
I used to say that I listened to industrial music, but by the songs that I skip in iTunes it would be fair to say that I'm mostly an 80s fiend. I make some as well.

Hobbies:
Now that I left all my things behind in order to move to LA my hobbies are limited to computers and getting drunk by myself. It's sad, I know

Family:
I have two sisters (here & here) who live in fancy lands far away, a dad in Wisconsin and a mother who also lives in fancy land. My Dad still lives in my home town. I also have a hundred aunts and uncles in Chicago, to many to list.

Friends:
I just moved to LA, I don't have any friends anymore.

Sex:
I like girls but Jeffrey is pretty cute.

Why have you changed your name so many times?
Is there a trail of bodies?

Not quite so exciting. The first name change was when I got married, I took her name. The second one was when I got divorced. There is a third on the way, simply because I can. It's fun. It does make it hard for people to find you, and I like that.

New Music Website / iTunes Parody

Hi, we're writing to tell you about a new website about filesharing and the music industry. It's grown out of our disatisfaction both with the whole "illegal downloads" debate in the newspapers and with the shrill "RIAA sucks! let's hack their website" tone of comments on some filesharing websites.

Today we put up our first peices, which include photos of our flyering campaign, an article about filesharing as civil disobedience, and a really nice parody of iTunes and the Apple website that will probably get us sued.

The project's called Downhill Battle, the site is downhillbattle.org

We're trying to get the word out quick, because we don't know how long the iTunes page will stay up. We have a lot more planned in a couple weeks when we fully launch the site.

We'd love to hear what you think.

Thanks,
Nick and Holmes
Downhill Battle

>> more description/mini-release

Downhill Battle is about why major label domination of music needs to end. Filesharing and CD burning have given us some tools, but we need to defend our right to use them and at the same time develop new ways to support artists. DownhillBattle.org will have articles, music reviews, news, and free music propaganda. There will also be forums where we can drop the debate team bullshit and do some serious strategizing on how to get music back. Because no matter what kind of music you're into, it will be way more fun after the major labels are gone. The Downhill Battle site will launch for real in early September. In the meantime, there will be a pre-launch weblog and photos of our flyer campaign.

Hi Thomas....
It's strange that I picked today to checkout your "All About Me" profile.
Interesting that I just happen to live in Chicago too.

Cheers to a fellow resident(though I'm a native).

Hi Wolf: I am intrigued by your claim to help other have their cars stolen for an overhaul, or do you just like to see others grovel at the oportunity? Well, may I grovel? I have seen the muscle cars and classics overhauled and they are all quite impressive, here is one for you to submit. I recently obtained a 1986 Porsche 944 that is in good shape but I fear the cost of anything major going awry. I know it's not a 911 but the thing deserves to be on the track and that is my lifetime goal. I have yet to see the show delve into a foreign spots car with such a rich history. You think it may be something that would catch the interest of Chip Foose and his team or are they strickly American muscle car oriented?

How do you assist others in being concidered for the show, and who have you been succesful in doing so with?

I thank you in advance for your response.

Respectfully,

Rich

I don't claim to be able to help people get on the show. Quite the opposite in fact. I claim, in several places, that I have nothing to do with the show. I wish people would just stop leaving comments about it altogether.

Hi dude. Ya know, you should seriously consider not having font styles defined in your RSS feed. The whole point of RSS feeds is to access the information...not the site.

Tom, your apartment looks very nice. Pat did a nice job!
How are you doing out in LaLa land? Boston is a bore, hate it. It is soo east coast. Listen I need to buy a new computer and screen. My LaCie is just about to die. What should I get? A G5. Let me know. Send Patsy a email at her new school. Patricia_Wagner@milton.edu. We are coming to California in March. Can we take you to dinner.
I let you know the dates. We are starting in San Diego and driving up the coast, checking on a couple of colleges for Patsy and ending in San Fran. Patsy gets two weeks vacation so we are doing a road trip. Let me know on the computer. MG
