WebCam
I was digging around in my closet today and found an old USB webcam that I had forgotten about. A little excited about my discovery I was off to look for Mac OS X drivers. The pain in disappointment. As it turns out my camera is of some weird and uncommon variety that no one has managed to make drivers for. It makes sense. If I remember correctly I received this camera from Earthlink for signing up in 1998. It's not that I feel bad for me, I'll live. It is the other poor soles left with a useless Alaris WeeCam. They must be very sad. To add insult to injury, their website doesn't seem to work for me.
You've tried this, right?

Yeah. Unfortunately it doesn't support my WeeCam.

Hello,
Sorry to here about the trouble.
Maybe you can help me even if i can't help you. I just purchased the alaris weecam from ebay.
I was running os 9.2 and it wouldn't work so I restored my imac to the original 9.0 to see if that helped. But alas nothing. I was wondering if you had an ideas? I have a 450mhz 20gig 576ram. I have looked up alaris weecam till I am blue in the face and even contacted Earthlink with no help. The only thing that i can figure is that its broke or there is an upgrade that i can't find. Also I just tried alaris again and it goes to it but the sight says "Rightbits Home" and under products it says "sight is under construction". I'm about to give up here and count my purchase as a loss.
Thanks for listening,
Beth
BTW I do get sound record but no picture...not even a choice for it or a window.

What version of the driver do you have? I found a version 1.0.5 on Versiontracker. The link is below.

I remember having a hell of a time getting my Alaris weeCam running in 9.2.2 so that I could use it with Yahoo Messenger and even the QuickVideo app that came with the camera. Just having the drivers installed DIDN'T SOLVE IT. I had to have the codec for it too which is of the "Intel Indeo" or "Intel Raw" variety. Then it worked like a champ. Sorry I don't have the exact extension codec name right now, I'm trying to get MacOS 10.3.4 running here.
