Taxes
Rich Klau is pointing out a good article by Warren Buffet about the tax breaks passed by the Senate last week.
His point can be summed up with this quote:
Putting $1,000 in the pockets of 310,000 families with urgent needs is going to provide far more stimulus to the economy than putting the same $310 million in my pockets.
I have no problems paying taxes when the burden is spread fairly. Tax breaks like this hurt the most vulnerable and help the least.
My Scripts
While in film school I took a couple of screenwriting courses. Out of these courses came a couple of scripts. The other day while doing some cleaning I found the hard copies.
I don't plan on doing anything with them but it seem like a waste to toss them. My solution? Throw them up here under a Creative Commons license. I can't seem to find the original files so I'm going to remake them.
The first one is done. Living is a short script, just 16 pages, it tells the story of a young law student struggling with death. I wrote it over 3 years ago and you can tell. Actually I'm not sure I would do any better now.
I'm not looking for a critique or anything. I just believe if you own creative works you don't plan to use for anything, it's nice to throw it out there.
