Ripley's Believe It or Not

I just saw a commercial for this show. In it they use the line:

The all true Ripley's Believe It or Not.

It it just me, or doesn't the all true part take away some of the fun? Not to mention making the title of the show pointless. You have to believe it, they just told you it was all true.

Transmit 2.5

Panic released Transmit 2.5 today. The big new "feature" is a speed increase. They're not kidding. I have a script that uses Transmit to download a 5 meg file from a directory of several hundred files. It used to take several minutes just to get the list of files. Now it's just a few seconds and the download seems faster as well. It's nice when things get better.

Thunderstorms

I had to run out and do some errands today and just made it back before the downpour started. I had to cut the trip short so I wouldn't get caught in it while on my motorcycle. The one thing that didn't get done was grocery shopping. I don' t have any food and it's raining hard as hell now. I guess I'll be ordering in tonight.

When I was younger we used to go to my grandmother's cabin in Door County, Wisconsin. Thunderstorms up there were great. Watching them rolling in over lake Michigan was spectacular. If you were lucky you would see large water spouts, little tornados of water. I have fond memories of sitting on the beach watching them come in, then dashing to the house before it started raining on you.

I just love thunderstorms and I hope this heavy rain turns into a big one. They make me feel really cozy. To bad Erica isn't here to enjoy it with me, she's off doing homework. blah.
