Cute Me

nothingIn the process of the project that I'm working on I have been going through some photos. That's me there sometime in grade-school. Wasn't I just the cutest kid? I wonder what happened to my knee, that's the one that gives me trouble now. Thanks to my sister Kate for the photos.

I need this to wrap under the photo so I'm going to write a little more. The photos that my sister sent me are reminding me of all kinds of things. I hope there are pics of me when I was in my teens. I don't have any myself. They are my lost years. People are always asking for pics from when I had long hair. I don't believe I've every seen one. I may have to call some old friends from Wisconsin and see what they have.

New Apps for Me

I'm in the middle of a very big personal project (coming to you soon) and in the process I've been using two apps that came bundled with My G4. OmniOutliner and OmniGraffle. When I first got this Mac in December, I didn't think I would have any use for them at all, and I almost deleted them several times.

Well now they are two of the greatest apps I've had the pleasure to use. I can't get too specific on how I'm using them, but I'm using OmniOutliner to organize hundreds of lines of information. I had originally planed on making a database, but OmniOutliner is working much better. Everything is at my finger tips and I can see where it falls in relation to other pieces quickly, as well as get it out of my way. Cryptic I know, but let's just say it rules.

As far as OmniGraffle, it's great. I'm laying out a document structure that will eventually take up hundreds of pages. I can see the navigation flow very quickly. Much better than the original plan of just keeping it all in my head.

If anyone uses OmniGraffle 3, I would be curious if the upgrade from 2 is worth it. I imagine it is. The UI looks a lot nicer.
