Court Date

Well I had my court date this morning. What a pain in the ass. Turns out it is not in fact a court date, instead it a day to meet the other attorney and set a trial date with the judge. Blah.

It was funny. The lawyer asked me out to the hall and "explained" what was going on. He offered to allow me to make payments and they would take it off my credit, but I had to do it today, one time offer.

I hate when people assume that I'm an idiot. I turned down his generous offer to pay a crap load of money that I don't think I owe. I might as well go to trail and at least have a chance to win. It's not like I'll pay less if I settle.

He asked why I thought I didn't owe any money, apparently he never read the letter I sent a year ago when this started. Anyway he seemed surprised by my thoughts on what happened. I guess the building management never talked to him.

Anyway, now I have to prepare for trial, whatever that means. I have a couple of months for it though.
