It's good to be a baby, or a beta tester.

TypePad is going to be a new weblog tool from Six Apart, the makers of the great and godly MovableType.

Being the lucky man that I am, I was chosen as a beta tester of the new service. You can find my TypePad weblog here, but it's pretty much just like this one, even the content for now. I may use it for something else, but I'm not entirely sure yet. We shall see.

Old Friends

I received a phone call from an old friend tonight. It always surprises me when I'm handed the phone. No one but my Mom calls me on the apartment land line. I figured it must be a tele-marketer or something. I was relieved when it was my friend Jess who I haven't seen in 5 years, since I moved to Chicago.

I met Jess while still living in my hometown about 7 or 8 years ago. We ended up being close friends. When she moved to Colorado and I moved to Chicago, we just sorta stopped talking. Well now she's back in Fond du Lac and got my number from a mutual friend.

It was weird to talk to her. When you haven't seen someone in that long, it can be hard to think of something to say without reminiscing. We ended up talking for over an hour, apparently I thought of something. She sounded great. Hopefully I'll be seeing her in a few weeks. I've been trying to plan a trip up there all summer, but it's proving harder than expected to get away.
