Themes

I realized tonight that I hate themes. I don't mean a something as general as simplicity or even a specific decade, but rather a motorcycle built with a fire truck theme.

I think it goes all the way back to junior high with those dances. Yuck. They were also so god awful. Then there was prom, with some awful under the sea theme. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Now there's cars, motorcycles, and houses with themes. There's just something horribly wrong with designing something to look like something else. Design should be unique and stand on it's own, embracing itself. Why on earth do you want your house to look like a movie theater or a stadium?

But I do watch all those shows.
